Job Description:

1. Position Overview

The Warehouse & Logistics Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of all Raw Material (RM), Work-in-Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) stock at Salient SARL, together with the dispatch function — ensuring accurate inventory records, disciplined stores and dispatch processes, and timely material availability and outbound delivery, including coordination with transporters for vehicle arrangement.

2. Key Responsibilities

Inventory Ownership

  •  Own complete accountability for Raw Material, Work-in-Progress and Finished Goods stock — physical custody, ERP records, and reconciliation between the two
  •  Ensure proper storage, handling, and identification of RM, WIP and FG at all times to prevent damage, loss or obsolescence

Store Operations

  •  Confirm and process material requirements raised by user departments, and raise Purchase Requisitions (PR) in ERP for GM approval
  •  Coordinate with the Maintenance function for creation of new spares/item codes in ERP based on specifications provided
  •  Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) on receipt of material and submit to Accounts, with invoice, on a daily basis
  • Control and document all material issues against approved requisitions, maintaining traceability of consumption

Inventory Accuracy & Control

  •  Conduct periodic and annual physical stock-taking, reconcile against ERP stock, and report variances for investigation
  • Monitor and report slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete stock for management review and provisioning
  • Maintain FIFO/FEFO or the applicable stock rotation discipline appropriate to the material type

Dispatch & Logistics

  • Plan and manage dispatch of Finished Goods, ensuring timely and accurate outward documentation
  •  Coordinate with transporters to arrange vehicles for dispatch, based on order/delivery schedules
  • Negotiate and track transporter availability, rates and performance to ensure cost-effective, on-time dispatch
  •  Ensure dispatched quantities are correctly recorded in ERP and reconciled with FG stock

Compliance & Reporting

  •  Ensure store and dispatch transactions comply with Salient SARL's SOPs for stores, purchase, and material issue
  • Provide regular stock status, dispatch status, ageing and variance reports to the Plant Head/GM and Finance
  •  Support internal and statutory audits with accurate stock records and documentation

Team & Process Management

  • Supervise store and dispatch staff, allocate responsibilities, and ensure adequate coverage for receipt, storage, issue and dispatch functions
  •  Drive continuous improvement in store/warehouse layout, material handling, dispatch planning, and ERP-based inventory and logistics processes

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong).
  •  Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in stores/inventory management, with substantial exposure to a manufacturing organization; experience in dispatch/logistics coordination preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods inventory in a plant/factory environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP-based inventory and stores modules (e.g., item creation, GRN, requisitions, stock reports).
  •  Prior experience handling physical stock-taking exercises and reconciliation with book stock.
  •  Experience coordinating with transporters for vehicle arrangement and outbound dispatch scheduling.

4. Skills & Competencies

  •  Strong inventory control and material management discipline.
  •  Working knowledge of ERP systems and comfort with digital record-keeping.
  • Good coordination skills to work with Production, Maintenance, Purchase, Accounts and transporters.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation (GRN, requisitions, stock records, dispatch documents).
  •  Working proficiency in French and/or English, as relevant to the Cameroon operating environment.
