Job Summary:

The Industrial Relationship Officer is responsible for fostering a positive relationship between the factory management and its employees. This role involves managing labor relations, addressing employee grievances, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting a harmonious work environment.

Purpose

His/her principal role will be to act as a mediator between management and employees to resolve disputes and grievances, ensure day-to-day employee administration and compliance with local labor laws, promote a positive work environment through engagement initiatives, organizes training sessions, mediates conflicts, investigates workplace disputes, and monitors labor relations KPIs while providing feedback and coaching to enhance performance.

Key mission

Enhance Labor Relations:

    • Develop and implement effective labor relations strategies.
    • Foster a collaborative environment between management and employees.
    • Ensure transparent communication channels are maintained.

Ensure Legal Compliance:

    • Monitor adherence to local labor laws and regulations.
    • Provide guidance on legal matters related to labor relations.
    • Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory authorities.

Promote Employee Engagement:

    • Implement initiatives to boost employee morale and satisfaction.
    • Organize training and development programs.
    • Conduct regular employee feedback sessions.

Conflict Resolution:

    • Address and resolve workplace disputes promptly.
    • Mediate between conflicting parties to reach amicable solutions.
    • Implement conflict resolution mechanisms.

Performance Monitoring:

    • Track and report on labor relations KPIs.
    • Give support & feedback to management on employee performance.
    • Develop strategies to enhance productivity and performance.

Employee administration :

    • Leave management & Follow up of attendance
    • Participate in the recruitment processes
    • Drive the Onboarding of all new joiners on the site
    • Coordination of the manpower (permanent & temporary staff)

Relations with Local Administrative and Law Enforcement Authorities

He/her is responsible for fostering and maintaining positive, transparent, and cooperative relationships with local administrative bodies (such as municipal authorities, prefectures, and decentralized government services) as well as law enforcement agencies (including the police and gendarmerie). This includes proactively addressing any concerns that may arise. The officer acts as a key liaison to support a stable social and regulatory environment, facilitates dialogue, and promotes mutual understanding between the company and institutional stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience.

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in labor relations or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.
  • Conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex workflows.
  • Proven ability to respect deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
